Empathy

As a product designer, it is very common to bring this word to the table when talking about design processes. We are very strong advocates of being empathic with our users, we feel like we know —or we actually know— better how they behave, what they might want, and what they are asking for. We aim to be superb at this because we want to do what’s best for them, and that’s great. But what happens with internal empathy?

I feel that we need more of it. In the same way that we stand for our users, we should stand for a healthy, collaborative team structure that approaches problems with a solution-driven mindset. Dialogue, communication, respect and understanding. I believe I am an empathetic person, I cannot understand not being so, so I try to work every day to keep it like that.
